Carp fishing holidays in France

The conversion of the old barn is now complete and we are open for business.  We are offering carp fishing holidays for up to four anglers with exclusive use of the lake and house which is furnished to a very high standard and sleeps 6 people.  The house has a secure private garden so will be ideal for small children and dogs.  If you don't fish and just want a relaxing break in France, please see our prices for the house only.

 

 

 

 

The lake is approx 3 acres and up to 11ft deep in places and is set in 10 acres of private land situated in the peaceful french countryside. Over the past eight years, the lake has been netted, drained, desilted and restocked with carp up to 52lb. Maximum 4 anglers, so theres plenty of room for the wives to come along and relax in the french countryside and sample the wine!!

 

 

 

We are situated in the Pays de la Loire region of France in the department of Mayenne. Our local village is 1 mile away and has a small shop, boulangerie, hairdressers and bar. Chateau Gontier is just over 3 miles away and is situated on the river Mayenne. Chateau Gontier is an ancient town with many historic buildings, churches and walks along the river.  The river can be be fished subject to obtaining a licence.  Boats and canoes can be hired on the river and horse riding can be arranged for those in the party who do not intend to fish.  All major supermarkets can be found in the town and several little boutiques sited around the picturesque town square which has a market every Thursday morning. The town also has a rescue zoo/sanctuary - the only one in France to rescue wild animals - and is open to the public all year. .

 

Well behaved dogs are welcome but please be aware that we have small dogs of our own along with cats, chickens, ducks and horses so we would ask that they are kept under control at all times.

 

Alan and Jill live on site in a separate house so will be on hand to help if needed but hope that you just enjoy your stay in our little rural part of France.
